Power Grid Corporation of India Limited – PGCIL / POWERGRID is the Central Transmission Utility (CTU) of India. It is likely one of the largest Transmission Utilities within the World and a Navratna Enterprise of Government of India. It is engaged in power transmission business along with planning, coordination, supervision, and management over full inter-State transmission system. To take the growth curve to further heights, POWERGRID is looking for Bright, Committed and Energetic engineers to join its fold as EXECUTIVE TRAINEEs in the disciplines of Electrical / Electronics/ Civil through GATE 2021. Eligibility Criteria for PGCIL Recruitment through GATE 2021

a. Valid Score in the GATE 2021
Candidate should have appeared in the corresponding paper of GATE 2021 as shown in the following table and Qualified in the same. The qualifying marks shall be as declared by GATE 2021 Organizing Body.

b. Upper Age Limit

28 years as on 31/12/2020 for Unreserved Category. There is Age relaxation for OBC/SC/ST/PWD as per government rules. For detail please refer notification.

c. Essential Qualification

Course: Full Time B.E./ B.Tech/ B.Sc (Engg.) from recognized University/ Institute with Minimum 70% or Equivalent CGPA.

Electrical: Electrical/ Electrical (Power)/ Electrical and Electronics/ Power Systems Engineering/ Power Engineering (Electrical).

Electronics: Electronics / Electronics & Communication/ Electronics & Telecommunication / Electronics & Electrical Communication / Telecommunication Engg.

Civil: Civil Engineering

Final Year / Semester students who expect their results by 14.08.2021 are also eligible, provided they have obtained 70% marks or equivalent CGPA in aggregate of all semesters/years up to pre-final examination.

Selection Process of PGCIL Recruitment through GATE 2021

• The Selection Process consists of marks obtained (out of 100) in the corresponding paper of GATE 2021, Group Discussion & Personal Interview.
• Applicants qualified in the corresponding paper of GATE 2021 shall only be eligible to be considered for the next stage of selection.
• Qualified applicants shall be short-listed category-wise for Group Discussion & Personal Interview based on their normalized marks out of 100 in GATE 2021, in the corresponding paper.
• Applicants shortlisted for the Group Discussion and Interview shall be required to bring the documents as mentioned in their interview call letter. Candidates must qualify in the Personal Interview in order to be considered for selection.

For calculation of final score of a candidate for selection, the weightages of marks obtained in GATE, Group Discussion and Interview shall be as indicated below:

Application Fees for PGCIL through GATE 2021

Application Fees for GEN/OBC is Rs. 500/-. SC/ST/PwD/ Ex-SM/ Departmental candidates need not to pay it.

How to Apply for PGCIL through GATE 2021

1. Applicants have to register themselves and appear for the corresponding paper of GATE 2021.
2. Applicants have to register themselves online at POWERGRID website with details of their GATE 2021 Application No., GATE 2021 Registration Number, and other required information, which will be made available at CAREER section.
3. Applicants will be required to retain their GATE 2021 Admit card and Scorecard for verification at the time of GD/ Interview / Joining in POWERGRID.
